strich_eins

Diplom Praxis
Prof. Peter Eckart

Design

strich_eins is concerned with the information content and communication of a road construction site as well as its impact on the relevant road users and their needs. After all, multimodal mobility concepts necessitate products that all road users understand, and which should also play a supportive role to them in their locomotion, should temporary restrictions arise. strich_eins is intended to encourage road users, who are restricted by road works, to avoid them by moving along the yellow guideline. The digital foot module provides storage space for the battery of the LED lighting and GPS transmitter. In so doing, various services, such as navigation tips, can attend to the restriction more accurately and guide traffic more intelligently.

Diplom Theory
Prof. Dr. Klaus Klemp

Design

The theoretical work examines why building sites are usually unpopular among the population and considers how this issue could be solved through multi-layered strategies. The purpose was to gather the results of practical research, to cooperate with the responsible office in Frankfurt, and to find appropriate answers for why the construction sites had such a bad reputation by studying interdisciplinary literature. With this objective in mind, the construction site system was divided into three subsystems: cause, location and information.
